Detroit scored all of the necessary runs in the 3rd inning when they scored 4

run. Chicago (AL) had 15 hits in the game while Boston had 10, but Boston
had the more timely hits.

Washington Senators beat the Kansas City Royals 9 to 5.
Washington jumped on top of Kansas City in the 3rd inning when they tallied 3
runs on 2 hits. The key at-bat was by Frank Howard who brought a roar from
the partisan R.F.K. Stadium fans when he delivered a single which was good

One run was the difference at Yankee Stadium as the New York (AL) Yankees
defeated the Minnesota Twins in 10 innings 7 to 6.
The score was tied at 6 after nine. New York (AL) won the game in the 10th
inning. Gene Michael slapped a base-hit. Jake Gibbs was next and he ripped
a one-base hit. Frank Fernandez then reached on an error making New York
(AL) the victors to the delight of the home town faithful. New York (AL)
