The score was 6 to 1. Houston jumped on top of Montreal in the bottom of the 2nd inning plating an isolated run. After two outs Curt Blefary drew a walk. Harry Walker then called for a steal which was successful. Johnny Edwards then drew a walk. Denny Lemaster was up next and he lashed a single scoring the run. Philadelphia erupted with the game winning runs in the top of the 8th inning with 2 runs on 2 base hits. Cookie Rojas led off and keyed the rally when he delivered a one-base hit. Jim Maloney then threw a high and inside pitch that got by the catcher; it was ruled a passed ball. Mike Ryan then drew a walk.
