Mickey Lolich allowed 3 hits while blanking Chicago (AL) as the Detroit Tigers
topped the Chicago (AL) White Sox by a score of 2 to 0 at Tiger
Stadium.

Dick Drago came through with a solid 4 innings at Municipal Stadium as the
Kansas City Royals beat the Cleveland Indians in 14 innings by the count of 8
to 5.
The score was tied at 5 after nine. Kansas City came out the victor in the
14th inning. After an out was recorded, Joe Foy started the rally when he
ripped a base-knock. Foy got a good lead and stole second. One out later,
Jerry Adair was walked intentionally. Ellie Rodriguez was up next and he
smacked a three-run homer resulting in an exciting win for Kansas City and a
raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. Kansas City managed 12
hits in their victory.
The victory was credited to Drago(3-3) who went 4 innings, allowing no runs.
Dick Ellsworth(2-5) was hit with the loss in relief.
Wth the win Kansas City now has a record of 48-60. With this loss, Cleveland
has a 4-6 record of late, 43-68, worst in the division overall.
