The game was won by Baltimore with a run in the top of the 9th inning. Don Buford drew a walk. Two outs later Frank Robinson stepped up to the plate and he ripped a base-hit scoring the run. Baltimore and Kansas City each finished the night with 3 hits. It was the 7th shutout of the year for Cuellar(17-9). Wally Bunker(5-20) was given the loss. He pitched 9 innings giving up only 3 hits and 4 walks. 'Cuellar was the man tonight,' Earl Weaver said. 'He had just about every pitch working.'
