1 at R.F.K. Stadium.
Washington scored 4 runs in the decisive bottom of the 7th inning when they
came up with 3 base hits. The biggest moment was provided by Ken McMullen
who elicited a roar from the hometown fans when he emptied the bases with a
Grand Slam homerun. Washington out-hit New York (AL) for the game, 10 hits
to 5.
Joe Coleman(8-9) got the win allowing 1 run in 7 innings. Fritz Peterson(12-9)
ended up with the loss. He allowed 10 hits and 3 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings.

Mike Nagy was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game at Memorial Stadium where the Boston Red Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles
by the score of 9 to 4.
Boston came up with 5 runs in the 2nd inning with the help of 7 hits. The
early run support proved sufficient for Nagy(7-10) and Boston. That was all
the run support Nagy required. Boston rapped out 16 hits for the night.
Dave McNally(13-5) suffered the loss. He pitched 1 and 2/3 innings giving up
9 hits and 1 walk.
