Washington Senators beat the Cleveland Indians in 10 innings by the score of
7 to 6.
The game was deadlocked at 6 after nine full innings. Washington came out on
top in the 10th inning. Ken McMullen delivered a one-base hit. Bernie Allen
stepped up next and he doubled. After an out was recorded, Dick Ellsworth
then unleashed a wild pitch making Washington the winners and sending the

Twins topped the ice-cold Kansas City Royals by the slimmest of margins, 3 to
2.
Jerry Crider(3-0) came through for Billy Martin with an excellent relief

Denny McLain pitched a complete game and second baseman Dick McAuliffe cracked
a homer and had 4 RBI at Fenway Park where the Detroit Tigers beat the Boston
Red Sox 12 to 4.
McAuliffe provided the offensive punch. He rifled a three-run blast in the
4th inning, doubled resulting in a run in the 6th inning and stroked a
base-hit in the 8th inning. Detroit rapped out 13 hits for the night.
The win was credited to McLain(10-9) who went the whole way allowing 4 runs.
Mike Nagy(6-10) was the loser. 'Wow. That's about all I can think to say.'
said Mayo Smith following the victory. 'If ever a team needed a win, it was
us.'
