The California Angels nipped the Kansas City Royals in 13 innings 2 to 1 at
Municipal Stadium in a hard fought contest.
The score was tied at 1 after nine. Finally, California pulled the game out
in the 13th inning. After an out was recorded, Bubba Morton smashed a
solo-shot out of the park. Kansas City went down quietly in the bottom of
the 13th.
Pedro Borbon(1-0) got the win allowing no runs in 2 innings. Borbon got help
from Ken Tatum who earned his 10th save. Tom Burgmeier(2-3) was hit with the
loss in relief. He surrendered 1 run and 2 hits in 1 inning.

Dick Bosman blanked Cleveland allowing just 3 hits as the Washington Senators
defeated the Cleveland Indians by a score of 3 to 0 at Municipal
Stadium.

Jack Billingham came through with a solid 5 innings at Dodger Stadium where
the Houston Astros beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in 15 innings 3 to 2.
The game was deadlocked at 2 after nine full innings. Houston won the hard
fought contest in the 15th inning. Gary Geiger slapped a one-base hit. Two
outs later Jim Wynn came to the plate and doubled scoring the run. Houston
