The California Angels nipped the Minnesota Twins in 11 innings 3 to 2 at
Metropolitan Stadium in a hard fought contest.
The score was tied at 2 after nine. California came out on top in the 11th
inning. After an out was recorded, Jim Fregosi delivered a single. One out
later, Bubba Morton came up and he lashed a single. Aurelio Rodriguez then
slapped a single, and an error was also committed, scoring the run.

Duke Sims touched them all and had 2 RBI at Municipal Stadium where the
Cleveland Indians beat the Boston Red Sox in 12 innings 4 to 3.

was recorded, Frank Baker stepped up to the plate and he lined a single

Earl Wilson allowed just 3 hits and Al Kaline had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the
Detroit Tigers bested the New York (AL) Yankees 5 to 1 at Yankee
Stadium.
Kaline provided much of the offense. He laced a base-knock in the 1st inning,
singled in the 3rd inning, smashed a two-run homer in the 8th inning and
doubled plating a run in the 9th inning. Detroit managed 11 hits in their
victory.
