Willie Davis touched them all and Bill Singer allowed Walter Alston to rest
his bullpen, tossing a complete game at Shea Stadium where the Los Angeles
Dodgers beat the New York (NL) Mets by the score of 5 to 1.
Los Angeles came up with 2 runs in the top of the 4th inning. The key at-bat
was by Wes Parker who silenced the stadium when he smashed a two-run homer.
New York (NL) out-hit Los Angeles 10 to 7, but Los Angeles ended up with more
runs.
Singer(6-5) lasted until the end allowing 1 run for the win. Tom Seaver(5-7)

Wayne Comer cracked a homer and Gene Brabender didn't allow a hit until the
8th inning at Sicks Stadium where the Seattle Pilots beat the Cleveland
Indians by the score of 8 to 0.
Brabender(3-1) dominated Cleveland hitters. He was stingy on the mound,
allowing just 1 hit and 2 walks in 9 innings seeing his ERA drop from 4.20 to
3.65. The right-handed Brabender had his no-hit bid broken up by Lou
Klimchock who singled with nobody out in the 8th inning. Seattle finished
with 10 hits in the victory.
Mike Paul(4-5) took the loss. He was knocked around by Seattle, allowing 7
hits and 3 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings. 'Brabender pitched a gem of a game',
