The California Angels had very little trouble at Tiger Stadium downing the
Detroit Tigers in 10 innings. The score was 7 to 2.
The score was tied at 2 after nine. California came out on top in the 10th
inning. The crucial at-bat was provided by Bill Voss who deflated the crowd
as he doubled bringing home two baserunners. California out-hit Detroit for
the game, 10 hits to 3.
Hoyt Wilhelm(2-4) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. Pat
Dobson(2-3) was the loser in relief. He surrendered 5 runs and 5 hits in 1
inning.

Mel Stottlemyre was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game as the New York (AL) Yankees bested the Minnesota Twins 4 to 2
at Yankee Stadium.
New York (AL) plated all the runs they needed in the 2nd inning scoring 4
runners on 3 hits. That scoring would be all that was needed. Neither team
managed to score after the 2nd inning.
