Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings. Finally, California prevailed in the 11th inning. Rick Reichardt tripled. Voss followed next and he lashed a single scoring the run. Boston could do no damage in the bottom of the 11th. Bob Priddy(1-0) got the win allowing no runs in 1 inning. Ken Tatum earned the save, his 4th. The loss was charged to Mike Nagy(3-6).
