Chicago (AL) White Sox won a dramatic crowd-pleaser over Detroit Tigers at
Comiskey Park pulling it out in their last at bats, 5 to 4.
Chicago (AL) scored the deciding run in the bottom of the 9th inning. After
an out was recorded, Bill Melton blasted a solo shot making Chicago (AL) the
victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration. Both teams finished the
game with 8 hits.
Dan Osinski(3-2) got the win allowing no runs in 1 inning. Pat Dobson(2-2) was
tagged with the loss in relief. He gave up 2 runs and 3 hits in 1 and 1/3

Dave McNally pitched a complete game as the Baltimore Orioles defeated the
Minnesota Twins 4 to 3 at Memorial Stadium.
McNally(7-1) gave Baltimore a solid outing. He surrendered 7 hits and 1 walk
in 9 innings. Minnesota threatened in the 9th but Baltimore was able to put
down the rally.
Jim Perry(4-5) was the losing pitcher. Billy Martin was subdued after the
ballgame, 'That one really hurts. If our guys had simply played more
fundamentally sound, we could have won that one. That is what really ticks
me off!'
