Don Wilson was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete

embarrassed the Chicago (NL) Cubs by the count of 19 to 3.
Menke had a great evening at the plate. He lofted a three-run bomb in the 1st
inning, delivered a base-hit which plated a run in the 2nd inning, ripped a
single in the 4th inning, laced a one-base hit in the 5th inning and stroked
a single in the 8th inning. Houston provided plenty of action in the 1st
inning which saw them score 5 runs on 5 hits, the 2nd inning with 5 runs on 4
hits and the 6th inning which saw them plate 6 runs on 7 hits. Houston
simply wore out the Chicago (NL) pitching staff, scoring in 6 different
innings.
The win was credited to Wilson(3-5) who went the whole way allowing 3 runs.
Bill Hands(5-3) suffered the loss. His ERA increased from 2.24 to 2.79 as he
allowed 5 runs in 1 inning.
Menke said, 'It was just all timing. I had pretty good rhythm at the plate
tonight. You've got to take advantage of mistakes when you can. A couple
pitches were definitely up a little bit - right in my zone.'
