One run was the difference at Anaheim Stadium as the Boston Red Sox defeated
the California Angels in 11 innings 4 to 3.

Kansas City Royals by the score of 3 to 1 at Memorial Stadium.
Baltimore took the lead for good in the bottom of the 7th inning scoring one

Norm Cash homered and had 2 RBI at Tiger Stadium as the Detroit Tigers pulled
off a dramatic comeback beating the Minnesota Twins by the count of 5 to
4.
Detroit scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning when they tallied 4 runs
on 4 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Bill Freehan who made the
home-town crowd a happy bunch when he doubled scoring two baserunners. For
the game Detroit out-hit Minnesota 7 to 4.
Pat Dobson(2-1) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the win. Ron
Perranoski(0-1) was tagged with the loss in relief. Mayo Smith was all
smiles after the ballgame, 'It sure was looking pretty dim there for a while,
but our guys never gave up - and neither did our fans - they kept cheering us
on. What a sweet win!'
