First baseman Tony Horton jacked one out of the ballyard and had 3 RBI and
Mike Paul hurled a 3 hitter as the Cleveland Indians outscored the Chicago
(AL) White Sox 10 to 2.
Cleveland scored 4 runs in the decisive bottom of the 3rd inning when they had
5 base hits. That scoring would be all that was needed. Cleveland banged
out 14 hits on the night.
The victory was credited to Paul(3-2) who went the distance, allowing 2 runs.
The losing pitcher was Tommy John(3-4). He got hit pretty hard, allowing 10
hits and 2 walks in 4 innings.
Don Gutteridge was upset after the game. 'I don't like to complain but did you

The Baltimore Orioles edged the Kansas City Royals at Memorial Stadium by the
score of 5 to 4.
Jim Palmer(4-3) pitched a fine game. He allowed 6 hits and 4 walks in 8
innings. Kansas City had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.
Palmer got relief help from Eddie Watt who gained credit for his 1st save. Jim
Rooker(3-2) was charged with the loss in relief.
'Fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals' said Joe Gordon after the game.
'We lost this game tonight because we didn't follow the instructions every
Little Leaguer hears every day.'
