Al Downing had a complete game as the New York (AL) Yankees beat the Baltimore
Orioles by a score of 3 to 2.
New York (AL) scored the deciding run in the bottom of the 8th inning. Horace
Clarke laced a single. Clarke took off for second and slid in with a stolen
base. After another out, Bobby Murcer then hit a deep fly scoring the run.
Baltimore threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.
Downing(2-1) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 2 runs. Dick
Hall(2-1) was hit with the loss in relief. Wth the win New York (AL) now has

Tony Oliva slammed a homerun and had 2 RBI and Bob Miller tossed a complete
game as the Minnesota Twins defeated the Chicago (AL) White Sox by the score
of 7 to 2 at Metropolitan Stadium.
In the bottom of the 4th inning Minnesota went on top for good when they came
up with 2 runs on 4 hits. Minnesota finished with 10 hits in the victory.
Miller(2-2) got the victory, allowing 2 runs for the game. Joe Horlen(1-3) was
the loser. He got hammered, allowing 10 hits and 3 walks in 6 innings.
