It seemed that Seattle pitching was serving up softballs for Reese to hit. He smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 2nd inning, tripled which was good for two runs in the 4th inning and doubled with all three runners coming home in the 8th inning. This was a game of many highs and lows for the home town fans, as the lead kept changing - 6 times in all. The win went to Joe Grzenda(1-1) who allowed 2 runs in 3 innings. Ron Perranoski preserved the game for Grzenda, recording his his 3rd save. John O'Donoghue(1-3) was tagged with the loss in relief. He saw his ERA jump from 4.66 to 6.30 as gave up 2 runs in 1/3 of an inning.
