In a good matchup it was the California Angels 7, the Minnesota Twins 4 in 10
innings at Metropolitan Stadium.
The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings. California won the game in the
10th inning. After an out was recorded, Aurelio Rodriguez got things going
when he laced a base-hit. Jim Spencer stepped up next and he drew a walk.
After another out, Roger Repoz then belted a three-run homer. California had
12 hits for the game and Minnesota had 8.
Hoyt Wilhelm(1-2) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Wilhelm
was helped out by Ken Tatum who recorded his 1st save. Al Worthington(0-1)
ended up with the loss in relief. He surrendered 2 hits and 1 walk in 1 and
1/3 innings.

Rico Petrocelli knocked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Lee Stange was able to
finish what he started and was credited with a complete game as the Boston
Red Sox beat the Cleveland Indians by a score of 4 to 2.
Petrocelli enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He cracked a solo homerun in the
2nd inning and lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the 8th
inning. Boston had 9 hits for the afternoon.
Stange(2-0) finished the game allowing 2 runs in the victory. Mike Paul(1-1)
was hit with the loss. He surrended 3 homeruns in his 7 and 2/3 innings.
